Beach Day

We had a great time soaking in the beautiful sunshine at Cannon Beach today. The kids seemed to love playing in the sand (I believe Caleb and Russell sampled it a few times, too). They even ventured into the water to cool off! It took Russell a little bit to adjust to the shifting ground under his feet, but once he started digging in it, he decided it was gonna be fun!

The Stay-cation

I have the next 10 days off! And seeing as it is the last week Brian has off from work too, we decided to stay home and do the stay-cation. I thought that idea was so silly before, but we are 12 hours into it and already I am excited for our week! Plus the weather appears to be cooperating and that always makes me a happy girl! I will be taking pictures of each day's events as I am scrapbooking a special layout for this week. So stay tuned for more pics to come of stay-cation.

Wednesday is the Oregon Coast--a first for Russell--he's been to the Calfornia beach, but not Oregon!!!
We went for a bike ride today (thank you Andrea for letting us borrow the trailer and helmet. And thanks Amy for the cold water!) Russell did great! We wanted to buy a trailer earlier this summer, but thought we should test Russell in it first! So far so good. Think we'll try a longer ride tomorrow and again later this week....
Practicing in the hiking backpack. We are planning a "hike" (more like a walk) near Zigzag this week. We placed Russell in the pack to see hoe he'd tolerate it. He thought it was hilarious! He enjoyed the pack much more than the trailer so far. We'll see how the "hike" goes...

Alaska (Mostly Bear Creek)

Headed out on one of his many, many, maaany "walks."
Getting ready for bed. Drinking his night time milk in our outdoor kitchen.
Bath time in a plastic tub! He didn't seem to mind! Making a pucker fish face is Russell's most recent accomplishment. :)
Bear creek men (and a little boy!)
Headed into the cabin. (Or aka Vicki's Villa). Flashlight in hand. That was pretty much always the case. Day or night, well night didn't exactly happen in AK. :)

Alaska (Mostly Palmer)

Daddy, Big Russell and Little Russell
Russell and the puppy Russell (and I) fell in love with. It's a Golden. 'Nough said!
Grandpa and Little Russell cruising in the yard. It think he liked it!
Grandpa reading all about Alaska animals to Little Russell.
Walking on the Matanuska Glacier (outside Palmer, AK). Very cool.

Ahhh...Summer
